I just want to let y'all know that this is my own personal message and plea for the hurricane victims and what I experienced today. I just wanted to let you know that when we took the Plus Size Clothing to the local donation center, the man running the ministry said that they are having a very hard time trying to locate any Plus Sized clothing. This is with all of the churches and other minitries that are trying to get together enough supplies for the victims of the hurricane nationwide. So Please please please, if you can spare the clothing or know someone that has lost a lot of weight and can't use their plus sized clothing anymore, I encourage you to donate them to the victims of the hurricane. This includes, socks, undergarments, and if you have toiletries I know they'll appreciate those also. Also; please feel free to forward this message to any plus sized friends you have!!! Or any wls post op friends!!! Sue

do you have an address where I can send some plus size clothes, none of the shelters around here are excepting clothes.

I tried the church around the corner, and called North Park and spoke with a red cross member who said they would take baby clothes but really didnt' need any adult clothes and most are saying don't bring clothes just money. But I have a box full of clothes ranging from 22 to 28 so if you need some or know someone who does I will bring them to them.

Tina, the one at the downtown center is desperate... 5000+ evacuees with nothing left... I would love to try to meet with you for a bit on Thursday morning before I have to head back to New Orleans for the weekend (working a 3-5 day stretch).

The one at the River Center? And do you have a number for them? Tomorrow morning would be great. I drop my son off at school at 7:30 or a little after. Where would you like to meet. I can come there or you can come here doesn't matter to me. I only live 2 miles from you.

Hi Tina; Right now the only one I know of is the one here in Denton, Texas. Its called Vision Ministries and I believe that the address is 101 or 105 West Maple Street. Denton, Texas 76105. Anyway the post office knows who they are and will be sure to get the box to them. The director was so happy to see me today that we just had to hug each other's necks. He will be thrilled with whatever you can send.

y'all have been great about jumping on the band wagon with this. I don't know when the Caravan of Hope will be leaving from Denton but I know that there are lots of church ministries that would probably be willing to take them. The (Red Cross and United Way) may want all the money I can get but that money won't be enough to get them transportation to get someplace to buy clothing that is hard to come by anyway. I'm getting really leary of the charities that are taking cash only because they only give limited amounts anyway. I heard on the news that the Salvation Army was taking clothing donations.
