George and I are OK!
Hi friends
Just a quick note to let you know we are OK. Hope all of you came through this safely. We evacuated to West Monroe area and headed to LaPlace this morning to stay with our son and DIL. We still don't have definite info on our home, but are fairly sure there was no water (we live on the westbank). Now whether or not we have wind damage or if one or more of our pine trees have fallen on the roof, we don't know. Our family is all accounted for and safe, but we have no word on friends and coworkers. Several of George's and my coworkers are from St. Bernard Parish, and we are worried about them.

Debbie,
Don't you be embarrassed, we are so glad that you and your family are OK. I can understand your concern for friends and co-workers. I pray that they are safe from this catastrophe. Please stay safe and keep in touch when you can.
You and yours will remain in my thoughts and blessings to all.

Debbie,
I am glad you are alright. We had been staying in Austin and then Baton Rouge. Now I have been staying at Ochsner Hospital where I work and my husband has been staying in Baton Rouge. I am leaving the hospital today and my husband and I will stay at my son's apt in River Ridge. He has lights and running water but the water is contaminated. I need to stay close to Ochsner so I can go back in a few days to work. We have a hole in the roof where a gable blew off and water got in through the hole. My husband put a tarp on the house yesterday. I am so depressed. I don't know what is going to happen or when the water will be safe.
Take care,

PS. I have lost 10 lbs since the storm. I am too upset to eat.
