Hurricane Help!
The needs of bariatric patients in our state are very unique -- nutrition, adjustments, internal medicine, etc. -- so we need to respond in a unique way.
Let's begin to form a list of patients from New Orleans AND those who were treated in New Orleans with their current locations. We need to get the displaced people their needed supplies and those who were treated in New Orleans may need followup care in different practices.
VP of Operations has opened a post for this:

Tomorrow, we hope to have more information about where you can send clothes and other donations. Eventually, we will also need "you" to help reach a hand. Anyone who can help distribute and reach out to our OH family, please let me know.
Baby Cece and I are doing well today. I got new meds and from my PCP and I'm trying to work on the BP, anxiety and stress "that is Frances." I think staying busy will help.
Thank you for all the support and prayers.
Onward!
Frances
I am still preop (wondering now if it's going to even be possible through this surgeon and insurance but I trudge "Onward!" and hope).
My personal needs are met, and I have now got a job as of today. I am willing to be a contact for our area (Baton Rouge is my new "home"). I would very much love to hear from our other OHLA members and those who hadn't yet made it to meet us!!!
Dear Francis, My church and I want to adopt 10 families that need help. We want to get them out of there and to a safe place. We are in Yuma Arizona, but we will go and pick them up and get them and bring them back to Yuma with us and the whole community and church can give them some much needed love and support. I know we are far away from you all, but WE WILL come and get the families. I have the support of the hotels and businesses in Yuma and they will get the money and everything the families will need. A nice shower some good food and a place where they can send and recieve mail. PLEASE tell me how to get in touch with some families in need. You can give them my number to call me and I will put all of this together, GOD is using me and nothing will stop us from helping these people email me and I will get you my phone number,[email protected] GOD BLESS YOU ALL IN THE HURRICANE AREA!!!! WE IN YUMA ARIZONA LOVE YOU ALL AND ARE PRAYING FOR YOU ALL.
A bunch of the New Orleans people are being brought to San Antonio by buses. You might contact that city to determine the locations that the people will be housed. Those will be the ones who have been stuck in the Superdome and the Convention Center the longest without help. They will probably be the ones who have not gotten aid from other residents of Louisiana, because they were trapped inside the city the longest. Why don't you contact the people arranging the buses for the victims. If you set up a place for people to stay, the will probably be willing to ship them there. They are running out of places to house the people. Many are shipped out, then put down over night only to be boarded onto buses again for a new location. Many would probably be happy to have a specific location that wants them.
