I have been watching the updates from the Weather Channel and as of right now, Katrina is packing MAXIMUM, sustained winds of 175 mph!! A HUGE and DEADLY, Cat. 5 storm. Just wanted to wish all of you in her path the very best of luck and all the safety in the world. This is not one you are going to want to stick around for folks. Thanks Cap'n K-Man, Your good thoughts and wishes are greatly appreciated. I live north and west of New Orleans in Tangipahoa Parish. As of now, we are staying put. We shouldn't have much trouble with flooding. We sit pretty high in our area. Thanks again, Linda

Hi Cap'n, So nice to see you here in Bayouland and thanks for the concern. I'm 60 miles from the predicted landfall and therefore out of the 50 miles range for suggested evacuations. I'll be with the group trying to ride it out and hoping for only winds and lots and lots of rain. I'm heading out in search of protein and gasoline. Onward! Frances
