I am almost 18 months post opt and I have lost over 300 ibs . The wls procedure I chose was rny. Since my surgery I have developed a hernia. I was wondering has anyone having hernia repair had a lap band added to give them more weightloss or has anyone had the size on their pouch or stoma revised (reduced)during hernia surgery? thanks fred

Actually Freddy, my surgeon does a lot of revision cases, he only does two "initial" RNY cases a week but does lots of other lap surgeries... you might want to talk to him about it... you might also want to stop by the revisions board and maybe the BMI over 50 boards Good seeing you... and congratulations on such dramatic loss already!!

Hi Fred, my buddy! My surgeon is a hernia specialist and bariatric surgeon. It's been a nice combination for me since I've had hernia complications. Since he did my lap band a year ago, I would love to hear his take on adding lap band to your lineup. Being past the 18 months of initial RNY is a valid concern. My surgeon is in Baton Rouge, but is not in practice at Neweigh. His practice is Minimally Invasive Surgery Institute and Surgical Specialty Group. I would love to speak to you more about this if you are interested in either the BR doctors or the lap band. Stay dry....Onward! Frances
