My first post
Hi everyone. My name is Crissy. I live in Berwick, LA which is right near Morgan City. I just had my surgery on Aug. 23rd with Dr. Bellanger. It has been great. Today is my first day home.
The surgery was a breeze. I hated the drain coming out that nearly knocked the wind out of me. And my morphine made me SOOO itchy. But that didn't stop me from pushing my button LOL. Most of my nurses were wonderful. I did have one that must have gradutated from Satan's School of Nursing However I didn't let her darken my mood. I'm having trouble quenching my thirst. I want nothing more than to turn up a gallon of water and drink the entire thing. I am hoping tomorrow will be better. I will start my very planned out day. I have something to eat or drink or swallow every hour or half hour. Watching my husband and daughter eat real food has not been pleasant either. But I keep reminding myself about the pay off. If anyone has tips on quenching thirst please let me know
I am looking forward to hearing from some of you. And if there is a support group closer to me than the Baton Rouge Neweigh one and I can join it please let me know. I want to be part of a support group but I know there is no way I can go to Baton Rouge every Wednesday.

Crissy Welcome to the losers side!!!!
I too am from Berwick and thought I would let you know that we do hold Support Group Meetings in Morgan City once a month. I am ashamed to say I have not been to one in about 6 months, but really do need to start attending again. It's a wonderful group and the meetings are enjoyable.
I can also relate to your thirst quenching. I think that was the hardest thing I had to deal with more than the food issue
Feel free to email me if I can help in any way and/or I can email you my phone number and we can become pals!
Hope you are doing well today!!
Hugs from a Neighbor,
Dee
