Hi Kat, I just read your above post and one to Lori about the OHLA meeting in North LA (Shreveport), what exactly is the OHLA meeting. How often are they and are they held in different locations in Louisiana? Just wondering. Thanks for the help. JC

OHLA is a support group, run by and for patients. We do not have the "lecture style support group." We utilize personal interaction and education for supporting one another in our individual journeys. We encourage patients to follow their surgeon's plan and follow through with their surgeon's group. We are an alternative to the professional-educating-patient type group. Our group is founded on the idea that sometimes patients just need to talk to other patients for support and idea sharing. We generally meet at my home, though not always, just because we are small enough still to do so. We have social as well as support activities. I will be posting soon about the Sept 10 meeting.

Thanks Kat!!! Now I just wished I lived closer to New Orleans. Maybe some day I can make a road trip. That could be fun. JC
