Touro Weight Management Center

Hello Everyone. My name is Lauren and I am the Medical Records Coordinator at Touro's Weight Management Center. I am also 3 weeks post-op from having Gastric Bypass Surgery by Dr.Louis Martin. My surgery went great! I had surgery on 7/28/05 and was already on my way home on 7/30. And I was back here at work in two weeks on restricted duties. I feel great, and I've already lost 26 pounds. I've watched people come in and out of this clinic everyday, and watched as their lives improved day by day, but I never imagined it would be this great. I have a much higher respect for everyone that I work with here in the clinic now. I trusted my fellow employees to take good care of me, and everyone here at Touro was so great, I met alot of new people and had wonderful treatment from my nurses, and they didn't know I was an employee until the day of my discharge. So to know that every patient gets that much kindness and understanding really made me feel proud to be an employee here. I can only hope and pray that people everywhere can have the kind of experience i had.

Hi Lauren, I'm going throught the Toura clinic right now. Next Monday I have my cosult and consent paper signing with Dr. Klainer. She and Dr Martin will be performing my surgery. I'm glad you posted this. It makes me feel better about my up coming surgery. It's nice to hear someone talk good about touro. I almost changed surgeons because people where telling me to go elsewhere. I'm glad I didn't. I think I even talked to you on the phone a few months ago about obtaining my medical records. But I'm glad I changed my mind. I wish more people would talk about there good experiences. The folks that talk bad where not even patiences there, they had heard. Anyway I'm glad I didn't listen. Tina, I'm glad that you decided to stick with Touro. I know that things have been rather crazy around here due to the move from St.Charles, but I'm glad that you've continued through the program. You won't regret it. When you come in to see Dr.Klainer, please feel free to stop by my office to say Hi!

Welcome Lauren I'm a nurse (formerly worked in Touro ER as a tech). I too am having the bypass done, but I'm using the place I work at Glad things are going well for you, can't wait to see you join us at the Obesity Help Louisiana meeting on the second saturday of each month.
