My name is Chrissy and my surgery is scheudeled for the 16th of this month. I go for pre op on the 11th. See I have been down this road before. I was to have my bypass on the 31st of May but when I went for pre op my white blood count was up, and my chest x ray showed I had pneumonia in my right lung. So my surgery was cancled. As it turned out I was admitted into the hospital for the pneumonia the day I was to have my bypass... So here I am all set to go for a second time. I am asking all to PLEASE PLEASE say a prayer for me that when I go for pre op everything goes smooth and with out a hitch this time. I will let everyone know how it came out. I know I will lose it if things don't go the way they should... Well I better head to bed now but will check in tomorrow. Take care and good night Chrissy

Hi Chrissy! You are in my prayers. It was probably a blessing that they caught the pnuemonia before the surgery. My left lung collapsed a week after my bypass surgery and having a chest tube put in was the most painful and life altering moment of my life. My lung is still not 100% and my surgery was last October. I know you will be disappointed if your surgery is cancelled again. Think good thoughts, and things will work out. We're here waiting for you on the losing side!! Susan

Hi Chrissy, Just think good thoughts and everything will be just fine. It was probably better to catch the pneumonia, rather than have surgery with it. That could have been a deadly disaster. Just remember, if something is not right for the surgery to go forward, then you need to know and fix it first. This is a very serious surgery and even though most of us get through it, good health to start with is as best of a promise for a good outcome that there is. May God Bless you and yes I will be praying for you. Stay compliant with your doc's presurgery recommendations and go forth. Tah Tah for now----Debbie
