Doctors office

Well I just called the doctors office, been a week and the darn paperwork hadnt even been filed yet. She said she cant send it into the insurance until the phy eval is done which I hadnt scheduled yet due to the one they gave me isnt covered under my insurance, $150. So I called the docs office thursday and left message and no return call, so today I called and got another name and I am scheduled for next week. Boy I wish things were made clearer. They need to make a paper with all that has to be done and how important it is and what the patient should expect. I mean I am not to have surgery until sept or after due to going on a cruise the first week of sept but still would have liked to know. Okay enough rambling. Thanks all Denise

Good Luck Denise, maybe we'll be scheduled around the same time... I'm shooting for the second week in Oct! By the way, from what I've seen, $150 is a good rate for the psych eval... All the docs I could get referral to (cept one) are about $450... the one I will go with, is also $150. Kat

Denise, which one are you using, I was referred to dr bella, and was told it would cost me $200. Would like to save the $50 for new clothes afterwards. Lori

lori, dr bella is who i am going to see, insurance covers this doc but the one for 150 is claudia harris on youree, that is who dr barnes referred but she dont take my insurance. i go next week denise

Lori, I use David Clark in Covington (I think he has a Metairie office, too.) and he was $150. I really liked him. Don't know about the insurance issue since I paid out of pocket for this one. I "failed" my first psych exam (long story). But, Dr. Clark was wonderful and I was approved and results sent in less than 24 hours from when I had my appointment. Very thorough and much better than my first psych. Rhonda

I'm planning on using Dr. Clark too, just wanted to wait to see him till I have the PCP visit done so I can send it to the right doc

wow that would be a very long drive for me.... i am near shreveport. denise...when i went to dr bella, they accepted my insurance, but due to my deductable not being met... they wanted to go ahead and charge the full amount. that is why i was wanting a little *****eaper one. thanks for the information!!!!!! good luck sweetie. god bless, lori

I agree on the paper with the importance and what has to be done. They should do that. Because sometimes it like they just expect you to know. Hope it works out for you. Tina
