Hi, I am 7 1/2 mo`s out and have lost 71 lbs. Weight loss is really slow now ,only lost 7 lbs in 1 1/2 months. My question is what amount is everyone able to eat at this stage? I can`t eat a full 1/2 of a sandwich (peanutbutter) if I do ,the last 2 bits makes me sick. I used to love anything with cooked tomatoes or sauce and now it really makes me ill. I know I am not getting the protein I need and probably need to go back to protein shakes, am at the hair loss stage. I am drinking 4 bottles of water and 2 cup of green tea a day. The only things that taste good are cheese, peanutbutter and baked potatoes and anything that is salty..Would appreciate any suggestions.

I would suggest to you to try the protica.com website. they have small volume supplements with high protien levels. I personally have started on the Advant Edge Whey Protien from SAM'S Club, only $19.95 for a HUGE container, something like 90 servings. each scoop is 22Grams protien, 120 cal, 3g sugar.... if those are too much sugar for you to tolerate, then try the ISOPURE zero carb... I liked those poured over ice. I would definitely suggest you get your protien up, before the hair loss becomes severe. Half a sandwich is about the right amount at your stage.. but I gotta ask, how the heck you get peanut butter down without drinking?? I'm a preop, but I'm a nurse who takes care of bariatric patients... good luck... increase the protien, and make sure you're getting your vitamins. You seem to be doing almost ok on the water

Thanks for answering. I am one of those that could not tolorate the carbs in any of the protien drinks right from the get-go. I will get back on the low carb protien drinks. My doc has his support group this thursday night,I really think I have an ulcer again because most of what I eat maked me really ill feeling, back to the Carafate (horse pills!). Thanks again........

Rita, My gastro dr. has/had (just went off of the RX per Dr. Warden) me on Protonix for my ulcers. Very little pills. Also, when I needed carafate in the beginning I was on the liquid--that's what I had in the hospital and when I first came home. Ask for the liquid if you are having trouble with the horse pills. Hope you feel better soon. Are you a patient of Surgical Specialists? If so, maybe I will get a chance to meet you at the support group meeting on Thursday. Rhonda

Did you look into the ZERO CARB ISOPURE drink? What about Protica.com? Neither of those have carbs in them... I've done the Isopure, as long as I bought it premixed (40g protien per bottle) and pour it over ice, it's good. I can't wait to try the Protica.com stuff.
