Medicaid?

Does anyone know of a Dr. here that takes Medicaid? I just went to Dr. Lavin's seminar and he doesn't take it anymore.Just my luck...All info is greatly appreciated.

Are you asking about MedicAID or MediCARE? I used Dr. Warden of Surgical Specialists for my DS surgery last year. Medicare is my primary and UHC is my secondary. At that time, their office accepted my insurances without a problem. I do believe there is a doctor that is with Tulane that accepts Medicaid but I don't recall the name. I understand that Medocaid is harder to get things approved through but I'm not sure. Rhonda

I believe the only docs left that take Medicaid for gastric bypass (RNY) or lap band are the docs at Tulane Hospital. Dr. Scott is really good, jus****ch your nursing care closely... the nurses there mean well but are WAAAAY overworked and spread toooooo thin (1 nurse to 7-8 VERY sick patients).
