I live in your area and I know how frustrated you must be! I use Dr. Roan Flenniken at Highland Hospital. He's internal medicine and will help all he can. In fact, he has a nurse practioner, DeAnna Kamphius, who is the greatest! She's really who I make my appointments with. You will love her and she will help "rush" this along as fast as she can. In regard to your medical records, go to the clinic, hospital, or doctor's office where they are. Pick out what you need and WAIT for them to be copied. If they say you can't see them, well you tell them it's your patient right to see them. I know it can be done because I did it and with no trouble at all. It might cost you a little bit, but your problem is solved. I had copies of my medical to Dr. Merriman within 24 hrs. Now, get up off your duff and get with it. Nobody's going to take care of you,,,,,,,but YOU. Best of Luck to you. Right now I'm 4 weeks post-op, so get with it girl.....your wasting time! ha

ABSOLUTELY go do as she says. Legally they CANNOT refuse to give you copies of what you want from your chart!! The 'Patient's Rights Act' prevents them from refusing you access to and copies of your medical record. It does however allow them to charge a "reasonable" fee for copying... some docs charge $1 per page to discourage people, but you CAN get copies, you just have to GO. That way YOU control what's submitted, and what's not, and you can see what notes they have made. Each visit's note should detail your doctor's discussion of weight, meal planning, & exercise. Some insurance companies will refuse to accept the visit "counting" on a supervised diet if you go for ANYTHING else besides it too... Meaning you can't go to the doc for an injury, and talk about diet, and have it count Good Luck! If you find that not working, you might want to consider something like the Aspen Clinic setup (it's a diet/WL plan with a physician and medication). Most insurance companies WILL recognize it as sufficient to meet needs.
