Dr Kreitz in Lake Charles
Hi Thelma,
I have heard of Dr. Kreitz through an OH member here that attended his seminar. He is with Dr. Shimer. You may want to contact her through her profile to ask any questions. Here is the link to her profile and you can email her. She lives in Westlake too!

Hello, Thelma. Thought I'd pop over to the LA board and here you are! How's everything going? My appointment changed from Monday to tomorrow (Friday @ 10 a.m.) so I can let you know what I find out after that. Keep your fingers crossed!
I've scheduled appointments with Dr. Chinn (Pulmonology) 433-8400 on August 9th, Dr. Patricia Post (Psych) 474-2682 on July 26th and Dr. Gilmore (Cardiology) 433-8400 yet to be scheduled. I'm hoping to get pre-approved through insurance before all these other appointments because I have to pay my deductible plus my co-pay of 10%. I want to make sure that I am approved before starting the expenses.
I have been trying for quite some time to get info on insurance requirements from Great-West but no one wanted to help. I called and talked with Brenda @ Dr. Kreitz office and she e-mailed me a list of my insurance requirements. So now I know what I'm up against and it looks like a long battle.
Anyhow, will talk with you later.

Hey, Ms. Thelma! Just got back from Dr. Kreitz office. He is soooo nice and very helpful. I like him a lot and he is so comfortable to talk with. I think you'll like him. He is very knowledgeable about the surgery. I also like the fact that Dr. Shimer will be in the surgery room with him.
Dr. Kreitz is willing to help with insurance woes. Mine is that I haven't had a 6mth doctor supervised diet in the last 2 years. I had one in 2001 but that is four years ago. He asked what my last diet was and how long I was on it. He wrote down the information and is going to add a statement in his letter regarding it. He will also attach a chart I've made of my dieting/exercise since the age of 17 (30 years of dieting). My co-morbities are GERDS (Acid Reflux), vericose veins, sleep apnea, and joint aches and pains.
Now I just have to wait two weeks to find out if I'm approved for surgery or not. This is going to be the longest two weeks of my life. After approved I'll start the other appointments that are required - Cardio, Psych, and Pulmonary. I want to make sure that I'm approved before I start putting money out there. I've got a $250 deductible. After that I only have to pay 10% of the cost. I have good insurance if they approve this surgery.
E-mail me if you have any other questions. I felt really comfortable with Dr. Kreitz. No hesitation in deciding that he is the right surgeon to do my surgery! He's very much a people person and seems comfortable working in this type of surgery. I give him four stars so far!!!
