OT: SHARK ATTACK! Original Post by Dee Bert at 7:15 PM PST on 06/26/2005 Gonzales, LA - Lap Band (02/14/2005) I am very sad... The 14 year old girl that was killed by a shark yesterday in SanDestin Florida is from my town. Her family is friends of my family. She attended the same school as my children. It is a small Catholic school with only 250 students total and everyone there is like family. It is so tragic that this could have happened. I still feel like it is something that you see on T.V. She was on vacation with another family from our school and her parents were at home in Gonzales. What a phone call to receive!! Please pray for the Daigle family and the soul of little Jamie Daigle, and also for the 14 year old girl that was with her and witnessed the death of her best friend to a killer shark. We all belong to the same church and the family is very deep in faith. I hope that it is enough to get them through this terrible tragedy. Dee

Dee, I was very shocked to find out today that Jamie's dad graduated a year before me from high school. I recieved the call today from my sister. Her husband played football with Ronnie. It is such a tragedy. They are in my thoughts and prays. It must be a tragic time for your same town also all the kids. God bless and take care

My family's thoughts and prayers are with the Daigle family and the friends and family members involved. The loss of anyone in such a sudden and violent way is terrible...in someone so young it is a tragedy. I pray that the community bands together to support this family in their time of need and that while they may never accept this loss...the hurt will eventually fade so that it is bearable to withstand.
