I went to see my PCP yesterday and was so nervous, really thought he would not be very supportive. Boy was I wrong, he was 100% supportive. He said there are not very many of his patients that he would back 100% because of the follow-up care and some thinking it would be a quick fix. He said he really felt like I would be a great canidate and would do all f/u care as prescriped. He will be writing a letter to the insurance company and suggested I go an talk with my Gastrointerologist. He felt sure that he would also support me. My surgeon said the medical records I brought from the GI specialist were very well documented. My PCP and I read over his records and they are even more detailed. I just feel so positive!

JC, I felt the same way when I went to see my pcp the first time. Very nervous...even a little scared. I am glad that every thing went well for you and that your pcp is willing to back you up with the wls. Makes you feel great when every thing just seems to fall into place, doesn't it? Hope your weekend keeps on being positive! Take Care!

So far everything is going great! That kind of makes me scared, to many positives and then the biggy from the insurance company "sorry we won't pay because of your exclusion" I can't think like that. Funny how the mind plays games with you. No I'm not crazy. I thought about this today. My reports from the EGD, ERCP, upper and lower GI series and numerous other GI tests also went to my GYN. (found this out after reading all my reports but it didn't register until today) I am due for my yearly check-up so I am going to ask my GYN for his help too. I'm not worried about asking him!!! The only people that know what I am planning to do is my husband and kids. I don't want to share this with anyone unless I get approved. It is kind of like the diet thing, I tell my friends that I'm doing this diet or that and it always fails. If I am approved, I will jump for joy and will share this with all. In case you can't tell I can get extremely long winded! That being said I appreciate all your emails and replys. You have know idea how this message board and your responses has helped me. You are great and a wonderful insperation. Hope you have a good weekend (what is left of it) JC

Just keep behind all your docs the more documentation and support from the docs the easier it will for them to assist you in getting you approved. If it wasn't for my pcp,doc I would have never had my surgery. Just keep positive. I am happy for you. Deb 4/26/04 351/170
