Help, very dissapointed!

Hi, all my louisiana friend! As I posted earlier I am approved and waiting on a surgery date.....first a found out I would have to wait two weeks due to H.Phylori--an indfection in the stomach....and be on medicine. Now I am still waiting on a date and found out that neither Vista nor Riverwest in Baton rouge take Blue Cross/Blue Shield-Federal.....what do I do now? Any suggestions on hospitals I can use..my surgeon is Dr. Hargrooder of Baton Rouge...I hate to have to switch surgeons cause I can't find a hospital that takes my insurance........ HI Tama, Perhaps talking with your Dr. about the situation will help. Maybe he can do the surgery at a different location so that your ins. will cover it? If not, I'm sure he can recommend some alternative so that things can start working in your favor... remember, everything in life happens for a reason... try not to let things get you down... when the time is right it'll happen for ya! Thanks for your reply....I sure hope he can dp at another location....I will call his office tomorrow....but doesn't doctors have to be providers at certain hospitals in order to work there?--Thanks for you reply I really appreciate it, and I know everything will work out ok!

You need to talk to your insurance company, find out who is in your network... Doesn't Dr. Hargroder also do surgery at Baton Rouge General?

Tama, First you need to know which hospital(s) your surgeon practices at...then call your insurance company and find out which one is within your network. Surprised that your surgeon doesn't know which one will accept your insurance. They should be able to help you with this problem. Take care!

Hi Tama, my wife and I are having the same problem. It is My understanding BCBS will pay, but vista is not excepting the amount that BCBS is wanting to pay. Dr. H. said the hospital is in negotiations now to contract a payment from BCBS Federal. I don't know how long it will take to come up to an agreement, but that's what we were told.

They are correct. The hospitals in Lake Charles & Sulphur take BCBS for this surgery.

hi Tama: you should look into Dr Chung in Lake Charles and Woman and Childrens hospital..In our support group there are tons of BCBS Federal people that had the surgery there by Dr Chung. That may be another option. Good Luck Laurie
