Well, OH Friends, I had my sleep study done last night. I don't have sleep apnea, but I feel like I have been up all night. I asked the guy who performed the test...'did I sleep enough for you to tell?'...he said, "Oh, yes, mam...you did sleep". Now I know I did sleep some, which was very hard to do with all the hookups and such. But the question was...'did I sleep ENOUGH'. He had to come in the room about six times because one of the leads wouldn't stay stuck on my head and my nose prongs would turn out so it wasn't recording nose/mouth breathing. Add to that the fact that I was in a hospital room, strange bed and very leary about someone watching me while I slept and I guess that makes for a very uncomfortable night. They wanted me to stay throughout the day also for more testing where I would have to sleep on and off about 5 times with 2 hrs in between napping. Nope, can't do that at this time, guys. I am sure that the results are good, just still feel like crap. Will definately be taking a nap today. Hope everyone is doing well today. If anyone has any sleep study stories to share, send 'em in. Take care, everyone! T--resa

Will the outcome of the study have any effect on whether or not WLS is covered by your insurance???? I bet you will sleep good 2nite!!!!

From what my surgeon told me, if I did have sleep apnea, it would help with the insurance approval. The more co-morbidities you have...the less trouble the insurance company gives you. I do have a few co-morbidities so I will just have to wait and see what they tell me. And, yes, I think I will sleep well tonight See ya! T--resa

I had my sleep test done last nite also. I did not feel like a slept at all. when they came in at 1am and put a cpap on me, I know I didnt sleep. Anyway my results were a little diff. They said I definately showed signs of sleep apnea. Not really news though we kinda figured I did. That cpap gave me one big headache.

I have heard that most people with sleep apnea feel better after sleeping with a cpap machine. But as you said...you didn't sleep after they placed you on one. Try it again in the comfort of your own home...you might feel better with it then. I had a headache also...but it was from lack of sleep. Or maybe being irritated at the guy who kept bugging me. Did you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep before the cpap?
