Dr. Kenneth Jones' Patients
If you were a patient of Dr. Jones, and had gastric bypass surgery with him, I would like to know if you recall what we were allowed to eat/drink during the first six week period. I know that this sounds crazy, but I had surgery back in 1998 and cannot remember a thing except that we were allowed to drink juice and eat crackers. Thanks - Donna
I had surgery with Dr. Jones in December and this is the list that I was given.
Day 5 up to 6 weeks
Full liquids(clear liquids plus: cream soups including tomato, potato, mushroom, celery, etc). May also have noodles (w/o chicken), any juice, crackers (well chewed), skimmed milk, cheese & crackers, peanut butter & crackers, yogurt, frozen yogurt, cottage cheese, cream-o-wheat, Malt-o-meal (NO OATMEAL), Jell0o, pudding with Nutrasweet, Dole or Weigh****chers fruit popiscles. NO block cheese -- canned, aerosol cheese only. This is to allow adequate staple line and stoma healing.
After 2 weeks
Add pretzels, Rice Crispies, Cheerios, Ramen noodles, grits, thin instant mashed potates (may add fat free sour cream), angel hair pasta (may add plain tomato or spaghetti sauce).
