Coming out of Lurkdom

Hi everyone, I have been reading the digest for this list for a few weeks now and wanted to say "hello". I am pre-op. I finally go see the dietician tomorrow and then make and appointment to see the doctor. My surgeon, if all goes well with insurance, will be Dr. Scott at Tulane University. It had been 8 weeks from when I submitted all my pre-op test results to when they called me yesterday, I had all but given up. I would love to meet the New Orleans folk at the party if I get invited . I have no friends and am looking forward to meeting a few on this board. People who understand me! Anyhow, I will try to post more now that this surgery looks like it "might" really happen. Arlene

Hi Arlene, My Doctor was/is Dr.Bernard Jaffe at Tulane. I had my gastric bypass surgery on 3/2/05 and it was approved by Medicaid within 2 weeks. He is a wonderful doctor and even a better person. Maybe you could try him. Good luck, C. Domingo

Hello Arlene, Welcome to the board and I'm glad you have decided to come out of the shadows. There's a wonderful group of folks here and I hope you don't become a stranger again. I'll be at the May 7 party and I can't wait to meet you. I have a "little sister" on the board who will be having surgery with Dr. Scott two days before the party date.
