Looking for a gym/personal trainer

I'm looking for a gym or a private personal trainer in the Metarie area. I'd prefer a trainer, but costs are a big consideration... Anyone have any advice/suggestions/experience about trainers/gyms/etc in Metarie?

HI RN, I'm out in the Chalmette area and work out at Beautiful You, its the equivalent of "Curves" if there is one in your area, I highly recommend it... its a 1 1/2 hour work out crunched down into 30 minutes time! When I finish my work out I'm usually soaked to the bone and need to head home for a shower! I love the place I attend (Beautiful you) as it is the same as Curves but locally owned (by a friend of mine!) AND we have an extra work out room with stationary bikes, gizelle's, treadmills, and lots of tapes to boot. The price doesn't hurt the pocket book either! I don't remember the cost on Curves but it wasn't much different from where I am and right now I pay $100 for 3 months! Good luck with your search, Kimberly

Yeah, I looked at Curves, but I want my hubby to be welcome too :P So I guess I hafta keep looking.... I'm kinda thinking a Gazelle Plus would be a good addition to my new home.

HAHA! And I'm just the opposite... my work out time is just for me! I LOVE being with just the girls while I work on TRYING to get in shape! haha (I've got a LONG way to go... just started working with the Surgical Specialists of LA to see about doing the RNY). I've used the gizelle... Its GREAT! Burns those calories FAST! I highly recommend it... (oh and its FUN~!) Have a great week! Kimberly

Kat, I am not a member but I heard that Elmwood Fitness Center in Elmwood is the best. It is expensive but a lot of employers give you a discount at Elmwood. Check with your employer. Also Elmwood Fitness Center has personal trainers. Lynn J., lap RNY 9/29/04 -100 lbs.
