Needing Courage

Ida,I will try to help any way I can. My surgury date is set for may the 5th,ive been in proces of haveing surgury for one year and 5 months.Im talking actively doing things to get surgury.I had to change doctors after getting played around with my dr speigal in texas. So then I had no dr,I had to find one to take medicaid,it was hard,mI hadto find him on my own,no one was there to help.I spent about a week on the phone constantly,I called every bariatric doctor there was,all over louisiana,and texas.Every hospital,finally tulane put me thru to the bariatric department,they said they could help,but the process has been very hard and stressful. And again ,its something you have to work really hard at,and do on your own mostly.The staff is not going to help you,I promise u,they just wont.I had to get on a waitng list to even get a package to complete for them,that was in september,the cordinator called in october,and said she sent a package out for me,and that I had to follow the instructions perfectly,and not to cal them to get help with anything. SO AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS IT CAME,AND I started the process,tons of test,there was lab work,pulmonary function test,sleep studys,ekgs,ecocardio grams,ultrasounds of my legs,my pancreas,and my galbladder.and some im forgETiing im sure. oh and the fun phsc evaluations,they dont help scedual things you have to get them done,only after they are done will they ever talk to u.They are just that way to everyone. And medicaid dosnt cover the cost of everything always,it takes work ,and persistance to get it done. Well finnally everything was done,and The package was sent,they called and scedualled my siminare,it was january 18th. I was then told that my blodd suagrs was to high and they had to go down before i could get surgury.And I had to go have more test,after they where done,and sent in, they called and scedualed my appointment with nutritionist ,and dr scott ,they where a week appart ,so i go to them,and at dr scotts visist he says I have to go see a vascular surguon before he would do my surgury,so i did that ,it was a bad experiance,read my profile,its all in there. Well it was all done ,and im just waiting on everything to happen,they did not just cal ,i had to stay on the phone ,THe took forever to submit my parerwork to medicaid for approval,I sopke to the insurance ladyt there and she said they delay everything concerning bariatrics,not medicaid,but the drs office does. SO she rushed it,and it got approved,and my date was set finnally ,after much drama.Now they are still playing around with me,telling me it might get canceled.
