Moving to Gonzales!!!!
Hello, everyone I just wanted to take a few moments and introduce myself! I am moving to Gonzalez April 15 or so.. after tax deadline.. I work for a CPA office in the Dallas, TX area. I have 5 wonderful kids and am looking forward to starting out in a new area.. My husband has already been in LA for a month now and I can't wait to be w/him again!
Since hubby got transfered he is already situated w/a job.. I however, will begin the search again. If anyone knows of a decent job that I could apply for It would be much appreciated! It gets kind of expensive feeding the animals.... oops I meant kids...LOL
Secretary, Receptionist, Payroll, Acct Payable, Purchasing, Heck I can fax or email you my resume!!!!
Thank a bunch in advance and I am looking forward to meeting new friends!!!

Hi Colleen,
Welcome to the Bayou State!
Gonzales is a nice town and close to everything you need for comfortable life. I recently applied with a company you might want to consider. Eatel is a telecommunications/technology firm dealing with local/long distance phone service, DSL Internet, Web development and hosting and they are building an impressive fiber optic network.
I've been watching them for a while and it's an aggressive and growing company.

There are also several small hospitals and medical clinics in Gonzales that you will find. Ascension Parish is also home to some fairly large industrial operations. I don't think you will be unemployed very long if at all. I'm in a job search right now, so I will keep my eyes open for you.
I'm a writer/editor with 15 years of newspaper experience, but I'm taking a little vacation from making ends meet and working mostly for myself. Let me know if I can help in any other ways or if you need some information about the Greater Baton Rouge area.
I hope your move is pleasant and uneventful.
Onward,
Frances

Frances,
Thank you again for all the info you have provided so far. It has been most helpful! That sounds like the perfect job.. I did work for a telecommunications company previously in Dallas until they were bought out and had massive layoffs.. I will definately apply and see were that goes!! And as always as time draws closer I will be spending much more time here in the LAMB!

Welcome to Louisiana!! I don't live anywhere near Gonzales (I live in Ruston which is about 75 miles east of Shreveport), so I cannot help you with any job info, but I can tell you that Louisiana is a nice place to live. I think that your kids will especially enjoy it! Hope the move goes well, and we will look forward to seeing more of you here!!! Best wishes, Pam
Thank you so much Pam.. I am already feeling at ease.. So far everyone I have talked to in the LA area have been so friendly and welcoming and the means a lot!
The kids are nervous about moving but I think they are more excited!
Thanks for the wishes and hope to be on as much as possible in the NEAR future!
