Transfusion and surgery in morning

I've been struggling with anemia and fever for four weeks. I went to the doctor today and my hernia repair wound -- not my lap band site -- is so badly infected that I will need surgery to drain the site and install a vacuum drain to keep pumping out fluid for weeks. My fever was as high as 103.6 today. After I got to the hospital, it was found that my rbc count and some other key stats were so low that surgery couldn't happen without a transfusion. So, I'm getting two units tonight. I'm a little afraid I might lose my lap band if this infection spreads to the port, but my doctor said he would do everything he could to save the band. I had my 5.5 month weigh in and I'm down another 16 pounds and a total of 62 pounds. I'm soliciting all your prayers that I can remain amongst you losers and I don't lose my band (or anything else). Thanks, Frances
