Does anybody know of any programs that assist with financing for WLS? Does anybody know of any physicians that take payments for any of the WLS? Does anybody know of anything regarding financials, self pay and WLS?

Hi Dee Dee, Have you tried Dr. Thomas Lavin and his group? I think it's called Southern Bariatrics (something). The website is www.whyweight.com My understanding is that they work with self-pay and have a relationship with a finance group that will lend you the money. I have no idea what the terms of the loan might be. Dr. Lavin did my surgery on 11.3.2004. I adore him. He's also one of the top 4 surgeons for LAP-RNY in the country. I wouldn't have let anyone else touch me and he was right here in Mandeville, LA. That must be about an hour from you. Not bad. You would likely have to drive that to a doctor in New Orleans. If you end up having surgery over here, I recommend St. Tammany Parish Hospital over Lakeview. I had a hospital stay at Lakeview in June for a week for an unrelated illness and I honestly thought they were going to kill me they were so unorganized and confused!!! The level of nursing care is TOPS at St. Tammany. I hope this helps. If you have your surgery over here, let me know! ~Vanessa 252/237/177/145?

Thanks Vanessa, but they know my insurance was refused and did not offer anything. But I am calling them right now to check into this. I looked at their website and nothing is on there.
