Information needed about support groups in la..

Can someone tell me where there is a support group and when do they meet in louisiana.I am also intrested in seminars....any kind of information would be good.I had my surgery in oct 2004 and i would like to know more about what my body is doing and would like to meet others like me.I am in the shreveport area but would travel if needed.I have heard of tulane hospital in new orleans having seminars.Does anyone know anything about this???Please let me know.....thanks

There is a support group that meets in shreveport.I believe that it's every third Thursday.Call Dr.Merriman's office and ask the phone# is 222-3132.There is also a meeting on the first or second Tuesday,can't quite remember which with Lisa Stansbury the nutritionist.I can't remember or find her number but you can ask Dr.Merriman's office when you call.Hope this helps you out.

There is a support group that meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month at the Bariatric Center, 925 Olive St., Shreveport (222-4364). I haven't attended yet, but I will probably try after I recover from my surgery on 02-15-05.
