I am with United Healthcare POS. Does bariatric surgery have in network doctors and faciltities or is it out of network?

Hi Reginald, I'm in Baker too! My doctor's practice, MISILA.org was out of network, but the surgeon himself and the hospital, Vista in BR, came up as in network for me. Most of the surgeon's cost and the hospital stay were paid in network and 100 percent for me. I think I owe less than $800 total for deductables and co-pays. If you would like to know more about my surgeon and my surgery, I have a journal at: http://www.francesspencer.blogspot.com Our support group is meeting this week and there's a before-hand seminar for people wanting more information on the surgery. The seminar is at 6 p.m. this Thursday at the Holiday Inn Select (the old Raddison). Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help. Another Bakerite, Frances Frances

Did your insurance have an written exclusion for the surgery?

My insurance company did not have a written exclusion. Kinda makes me feel guilty (nah) because I never felt we had a good, compassionate plan until I had "not a single problem" getting approved for this surgery. Hey, I wonder if I'm just that bad off? Frances
