Okay, I am totally addicted to Diet Coke. I have been told I can't drink sodas anymore after my surgery. Can anyone give me any hints in giving these up?

I gave mine up cold turkey after surgery. After surgery, I just didn't want them anymore. Now, I might have a Diet Dr. Pepper once a week or so and I throw half of the can down the sink. You might be surprised how easy it will be to give them up. Trust me, it is worth the trade off!! Rhonda 225/145

I am so addicted to Diet Coke too! Does Diet Dr. Pepper have caffiene? My nurse said it's the caffiene and carbonation that's bad for you.

I can tolerate the caffiene. I tried to drink decaf coffee but just couldn't do it. So I stopped drinking it. I started drinking my regular coffee about 2 months ago. I drink about 3 or 4 cups a day. It just depends on your system whether you can tolerate it or not. I also make sure that I get my other liquids in. I was slacking in that department and realized it and upped my liquid intake. Like I said, I don't drink much in the way of diet drinks anymore. Just don't want them. I drink the Minute Maid lites and (I know this is gonna sounds strange...but) decaf tea w/splenda. On occasion, I will drink the crystal lite. Rhonda 225/145
