NOW I'M WORRIED...

Ok guys...I've done quite a bit of research and thought I had chosen an excellent Dr. but I received an email today from a lady telling me that I should really reconsider the Dr. I have chosen. I need help here. The Dr. I am planning on seeing is Dr. Mando in New Orleans. Anyone else have any advice regarding him. I have OHP Ins. so I can't go to just anyone.. Thanks Carla

Hi Carla, Dr. Mando is my Dr. ...My husbands Dr. ...My sister- in -laws Dr. We have all had gastric bypass. They had open and I had Lap. I like Dr. Mando. He is very straight forward. He knows his stuff! Him and Dr. Oconnel are very good Dr's. They have been doing this surgery for years and years. My sister had Dr. Oconnel. She was the one who convinced me to go with the RENEW program. I am 3 1/2 months post-op and have lost -48lbs. My husband is 4 months out and has lost 100 lbs. Only you can make the decision. Carla, I live in Metairie. My surgeon is Dr. Clark Warden with Surgical Specialists of Louisiana. They have an office on St. Charles Ave and one on the North Shore connected to Lakeview Regional. He is with Dr. Thomas Lavin and a few others. Dr. Warden has been doing laproscopic surgeries for 14 years. He is one of only about a dozen in the country that perform the DS surgery laproscopically. His office staff on both shores (I have experienced both) are excellent. I had many complications which were not the least bit the fault of the surgeon but would recommend Dr. Warden in an instant. I, too, was warned off of Mando when I began my research but ultimately went with the type of surgery I wanted and who I felt comfortable with as my surgeon. Good luck in your journey. Rhonda
