How long did it take for you to get an answer from your insurance company after all paperwork was sent in? I am sooooo frustrated. i was put on a liquid diet over 4 months ago, having a very hard time staying on it, really am off it more than on, but have nooooo help to keep the hungries away. If I could do this by myself without help, I wouldn't need surgery. It has been three weeks now since insurance company got paperwork. Any ideas on how much longer before I find out if the fight is on with them or if I can move forward.

Hi Debbie - The whole process takes months. I was denied originally then my orthopedist wrote a letter about having to replace both knees and they suddenly approved it. My surgery is this Wednesday and I'm so happy that little hurricane "Charley" didn't disrupt my surgery date. Don't give up. I've been in this process since February! Nancy

I am so sorry that you have had to wait so long. I am so lucky. My doctor's office sent the letter to the insurance company last Thursday and my surgery was approved the same day. I guess it depends on the insurance company. I have sleep apnea, high blood pressure, GERD, and severe arthritis. I don't have a surgery date yet because I have to get cardiology clearance first. Good luck. Lynn in Louisiana

Debbie, Sorry it is taking so long. I started this process in FEb., but it really only took the insurance company two weeks to decide once I had jumped through all their hoops. I dont understand why they put you on a liquid diet... good luck on getting approval.. keep us posted on your progress... Sondra
