Need Advice and Information

I'm 24yrs old and 330lbs. I'm very unhappy and unhealthy right now. I have a history of depression, it's actually the main thing that caused me to put on the weight and now the thing that keeps me depressed. I was told that they don't recommend this surgery to people with a history of depression. Still I think it would help my depression and as long as I'm under a doctors care and taking antidepressants I think I'd be fine and determined enough not to get the weight back on. I'm also terrified of needles and hospitals etc., but I'm determined this may be my best option and I'm doing research to find out more about this surgery from people who have had it. I live in Shreveport area in Louisiana and we have two hospitals here that perform the surgery. If you can recommend a surgeron or have any advice from me I'd really appreciate it.
