Thank you very much for your response. There are many doctors to choice from I just want to choice the "right one". I scheduled a free seminar with Dr. Daniel Scott on Aug. 10 in New Orleans so I was trying to get information prior to attending the session. I will also research Dr. Chung. Thanks for your help.

I went to Dr. Scott's orientation last September and had my first pre-op appointment with his nurse coordinator and then I got really nervous and cancelled all of my tests. I liked Dr. Scott, I thought he was very nice and his nurse is terrific........BUT.............he his program is rather young and so is he. When I went to see the nurse I asked how many surgeries he had done. He had done several hundred during his residency/fellowship but since being at Tulane had only done 20 in a year...way too few for me. I am just home now from having my surgery done with Dr. Louis Martin at the Weight Management Center. Can't recommend highly enough. Traci

Hey, I had my surgery performed by Dr. Daniel Scott. He is WONDERFUL!! He is very helpful and knowledgeable and did I say wonderful? He takes his time with each patient to make sure that you understand what is happening and he answers all of your questions thoroughly. I was most impressed with how he kept my family informed during my procedure. He visited with them while I was being prepped and then directly after my surgery, he made sure to speak to them. He visited me daily and made sure I had what I needed and that I was doing well. He is a super guy and I am so grateful to him. Kolleen

Kolleen thank you very much for your response. I was getting a little nervous because I wasn't able to find a patient of his. The quality of his work and mannerisms are very important. Thank you for mentioning his bed side manner. That's very impressive. When did you have your surgery and how was your hospital stay? Thanks for your help.

I just saw this message, I don't know if you will read or not. My surgery was on 6/7/04. My hospital stay went well. The ICU nurses are fantastic. They were on top of everything and they too kept my family informed. They explained everything they were doing to me and for me. Once I was placed in a regular room, the care was sufficient. They took good care of me but of course, were less attentive than in ICU. Overall, my experience was a good one. Dr. Scott's nurse, Monica, is wonderful as well and she is there for you whenever you need her. She never seems to forget your name or your history. They make a great team. Hope this helps.

HI ALL MY NAME IS MELISSA BLANCO AND I LIVE IN MORGAN CITY LOUISIANA. I AM LOOKING INTO HAVING SURGURY WITH DR. DANIEL SCOTT. I WENT TO A SEMINAR WITH HIM AND HE SEEMS TO KNOW HIS STUFF, THE ONLY THING IS, I AM ON THE MEDICAID CARD, AND HE SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY DOCTOR THAT ACCEPTS IT. HE AND HIS NURSE SEEMS TO BE REALLY NICE PEOPLE, BUT I FEEL LIKE I AM BEING DESCRIMATED AGAINST BECAUSE I AM ON MEDICAID. EVERYTIME I CALL TO SEE IF SHE HAS RECIEVED MY PAPERWORK, EVERYBODY GETS REALLY RUDE WITH ME, I WANT TO DO THIS SURGURY FOR MY HEALTH, I HAVE DIABETES, I JUST WANT TO GET BETTER. THATS MY OPINION OF DR. SCOTT. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE. MY EMAIL ADDRESS IS [email protected]. THANKS!!!!!!
