COME ON NOW....LETS GET TO POSTING :-)
Where is everyone at?
I know we must have more people than this to post messages
I am in the Pierre Part/Morgan City area.
Any close by neighbors?
How was ya'lls weekend?
Anyone got to enjoy any of the Parade Happenings?
I have not been to any yet and might not make any
this year now, due to the weather. It is going to be
another wet day tomorrow as it was today.
Hope to hear from someone soon!!!!
Dee
Hi, Dee. I'm in Metairie. I'm a year post op this month. I, too, have had my ups and downs. I saw on your site that you are having the lightheaded spells. I've had what's called positional vertigo for years and had a few bad spells since surgery. Basically what it means is that your gyroscope takes a while to stabilize when you get up. So now, I know to expect it and make sure I take my time getting up, or if it hits me a few minutes later, I just hold onto something until it goes away.
As for that sugar thing, I suffer from that, too (feeding my face too many cookies!!). But life is so good. And I have had no regrets. I made it thru Mardi Gras, king cakes and all. Not that having one holiday over is any big thing in Lousiana. There's always an occasion to eat. So I'll just try to recover each time. So take care and give us a shout whenever you want to. Linda
Hi Linda,
Thanks for posting!
Yes, I am so relating to the Vertigo issue. Is it something I'll have to live with forever? I know I had a couple of bad spells yesterday.
I am doing better on the sugar issue and did really good during the king cake season...lol
It seems like we cajuns have a season of good foods daily ... lol We just do not need a reason to eat
Thanks again for posting and hope to hear from you again soon.
Take Care,
Dee
Hi again Dee. Hope you're doing better. I had a couple of spells this week myself. I find the worst times are after I have been semi-reclining, like in my recliner or the seat in the car is sort-of leaning back position. I just grab something, hold on for a few seconds and it goes away. I don't know if I'll have it the rest of my life or not, but I can live with it. At least if I lost my balance, I'm move able to regain it since I don't have that extra 100 pounds plus to deal with.
This was a good week for me. I had been on a plateau for the past 3 weeks, but lost 2 pounds this week. Of course, the secret was to cut down on the carbs. I've been giving in to the candy dish at work from early in the morning. Once I take one, I crave all day and don't usually resist. This week, I still have a sweet, but it's around 9 at night. That way, even it triggers, I don't have time to respond before I go to bed. Hopefully, I'll have another good week. Tomorrow is my 1 year anniversary. Think I'll go out to a buffet (just kidding, of course). I'm going to splurge and go get my hair done and maybe take in a movie with my husband. Then, who knows what might happen! Anyway, I'm so happy to be where I am now.
Well, gotta go. Take care and let me hear from you again.
Linda
