weight loss surgery support group

My doctor in Alexandria told me that there is a surgery support group that meets in Alexandria. I would like information on when these meetings are. I am planning to have the surgery and am just now starting. I want to take advantage of all the help I can get.

I would also like some information about this because I am from the Alexandria area. I recently had surgery on 12/10/03 with Dr. Richard Shimer in Lake Charles, and I have not been able to attend the support meetings because I live so far away.

Hi Nola, There is a support group meeting and a weight loss seminar with dr. lavin tonight in alexandria, I believe that it is at a best western motel. I am going with a friend of mine tonight. This is where she attends her support group meetings, It starts at 5:30 p.m. tonight, hope to see you there. I live in Plaucheville and I do attend my support meetings in Lafayette, I think they are great there and Dr. Chu is always there at the meetings.
