I posted before looking for a dr and after many hours searching and looking i finally decided to go with Dr Bellanger at Neweigh. I have a date of 11/17. I have been through all the testing including the preop testing. Now that its less than 2 weeks a way i am getting a little nervous. I guess that is nervous. Ends up once I got to Neweigh I used to work with Ms Peggy(anyone who has been there recently should know her) so that made me fell MUCH better. Anway, just thought i would update. Thanks for reading Crystal Preop 11/17/03 Dr Bellanger 365/???

I just had my RNY done on the 29th, and I was nervous to. I wasn't nervous as the date came up, but nervous when I actually arrived at the hospital. For some reason, I was agonizing over the anesthetic aspect of the surgery. Luckily, I was given a shot to calm down prior to actually getting the real anesthetic. In fact, what made it even better was that the anesthesiologist told me he was giving me oxygen in a mask--it was actually the anesthetic, and I went right to sleep. I don't remember a thing. Use your nervous engergy to tie up loose ends before you go into the hospital--nutrition supplement shopping, paying bills early, making informational sheet with hospital and contact information for your kid's caregivers, packing your suitcase, etc. This might help you to be a little less nervous. Also, remember that you won't be moving around as well after the surgery. Make sure that you set up your house, i.e. move furniture out of the walk way, put nutritional supplements where you can reach them if you don't want to get out of bed, do laundry, set out pet supplies where you can reach them easily, etc., prior to getting your surgery. You'd be surprised how many things in your house will get on your nerves and you'll wish you'd have taken care of it before the surgery!!!
