Please pray for my friend...

Hi everyone, I had my surgery on 8/8/01 and currently I am at goal and doing well. A friend of mine (actually my sweetheart) needs his surgery very badly and his insurance (UHC) will not pay. His church friends and I are trying to raise the money necessary for him to have surgery. Please visit his website...www.helpsaveavoice.com. I cannot sit on the sidelines and let his doctors perform the tracheotomy on him. Amy, I will keep your friend in my prayers!! I went to NeWeigh here in Louisiana and they also have an office in Texas. I didn't see where your friend was from, but if he is from Louisiana, have him call Baton Rouge @ 225-769-1401. I also have UHC and I had my surgery on July 1, 2003. I did not have to fight at all for the surgery. The staff there at NeWeigh will even appeal on his behave at NO charge up to 3x. Have him call and try. In the mean time I will keep him in prayer. Dee, Glad you had such good results with NeWeigh. I have BCBS of Louisiana PPO. I was not as fortunate as you. They would not even fight for me. No questions asked. The guy told me over the phone that I do not have anything to negotiate with, since there is an exclusion in the benefits. I was really dissappointed to say the least, since I have heard such nice things about how they have helped others. I'm back to square one.
