Weight Loss Surgeons who take Medicad in the New Orleans/Baton Rouge areas
Once everything that Ms Cheryl wanted was done, and faxed over- she made my appt, the same day she got it all and verified it everything. At that first appt, we discussed what he would do and answered my questions, after that I got a call about which surgery date I wanted. And that was a wrap.
I was blessed to have no major complications, with the surgery. I caught a stomach flu right afterwards, that was hell, but it was not due to the surgery, more from being around my kids, lol.
Thank you !! Cause I was worried cause some people say they had to go to class and I'm just ready to get it over with I have one more paper to fax next month and I'm done. Was your surgery scheduled far out after you see him. And did you have to do the liquids for two weeks before your surgery?! Sorry if I'm asking too much but some people give you the run around and you know it like your in suspense when you ask questions. Girl I pray Medicaid approve me I'm ready!!
My initial appt (after my paperwork was turned in) I believe was on sept 14, and I met Dr.D and the dietician.
I did have to do the liquid diet. He prefers his patients to do one. And each Dr has their own specific diet. Its not hard. Its just a stepping stone, to help you along your path.
Out of the dates she gave me I chose 10/28/16, bc it was the weekend and I have kids, and that way no one had to get them ready for school and such. Once I left the office, I began to eat 2 small meals a day and start more liquids to help me adjust to the liquid diet bc you dont want to mess yourself up. Starting you diet 14 days before and not following it. Then surgery date comes and you havent lost weight, and that shows you aren't compliant or ready, plus your liver fatty and he may have problems doing the surgery(which is the Main reason for the diet). Rescheduled! Sad! So do your best to help you succeed.
She will give you a choice of dates. But usually within 2-3 weeks, I chose the farthest date bc I needed it. But be aware that your not going to come home and jump right back into life.
Medicaid will approve you as long as you have everything she asked for, period. Cheryl is great at her job, and has streamlined the process so that all the BS is already removed.
Everything you have to get before hand IS what they need to approve you.
Be positive, speak positive, and move in positivity- You will be fine.
No, I don't think so. I lost 15 pounds, but I also worked 60 hrs those 2 weeks to make enough money to be off for 6 weeks. I don't know they get out of school, I was able to get them up and cook and stuff. I wasn't bed ridden. Just nauseated ALOT. I couldn't drink the shakes or broth. Hello and water was my best friend. But after 2 weeks and getting over the stomach bug I caught I was fine. I made the mistake of working too early( from home as a customer service rep) and sitting up for 8 hours hurt, so I had to take off again. But think positive-you are so close!!
I have worked hard. I eat protein and very low carbs and sugar. And I was a size 24 the day of my surgery. I'm a 9/10 now. I haven't been this size since I was 16!! I not only look good I feel great. I can finally say I love myself!
