VSG or Lapband on Louisiana Medicaid

Has anyone had this done on Medicaid?. If so what is the beginning process to get started?

I had the VSG on Medicaid on June 14. Down 88lbs! You need to find a surgeon who excepts it.  Dr. Noria is who I used out of Tulane in Metairie.  She is amazing! I have also heard there is a surgeon at Ocshner in Metairie as well. Only 2 I know about in the state though. You will need a referral from your PCP to get an appt and then they (your surgeon) will guide you after that! Good luck!

ok Great....88lbs Already?!!! WOW....ok.I jus got my Medicaid like 3 days ago and I don't have a PCP yet (b/c i cldn't afford one) so being that this will be my first appt and dr since my babies (back in 2007) will they give me a referral? Or will I need to go to Multiple drawn appts to get a referral?...Thanks for Ur response also and Congrats again..Thats Awesome :)
