Congrats! How are you feeling today? I can't believe u lost weight already! What was the pain from, gas or incisions? So, Dr. Noria did your surgery? She told me Probably August for me. I will be getting a def date when I see her again July 2. I have been wondering how many surgeries she has actually done, being that she is a new doc. So happy for u!

Today marks a week out and I am finally starting to feel better. The incision where she removed my stomach from is the most painful. And it isn't the incision itself, it is everything under it. I guess from them digging around to move things around. I did have minor gas pain but gas x strips worked wonderful for that. Dr. Noria did do my surgery. I can't express how much I love her! She came and saw me the day after and the morning I was released and we had about an hr talk. She is only a new surgeon at Tulane. I was her first sleeve here. She has done hundreds in another state. I wanna say Michigan or something up north.
Just prepare yourself. I didn't think my recovery would take this long. Plan to have someone with you for almost a week after. Moving is painful but required. And having someone track your liquid and protein intake is helpful too. You really don't feel like doing much. Today I am down 6lbs from surgery. seems to about a lb a day. I am anxious to get back to my workout routine after I see her next Friday. Then hopefully the weight starts falling off. And understanding your new stomach takes some getting use to. I can tell you I am not hungry, or feel hunger like I did before, but I do miss food! I have no regrets with this, but it is a whole life change.
Good luck, and keep me posted on your progress!

I don't remember what pain medicine was in my iv but it helped some. I asked for something better after the first night and started recieving liquid loratab by mouth. That REALLY helped me! I was sent home with a big bottle of it. Today is my 9th day out and my 1st day of not taking it. I may take it tonight but that depends on my discomfort level. Basically now I am in no pain, just discomfort sitting straight up and bending over. We shall see! Yesterday was the first day I felt "almost normal" .......almost back to myself. The toughest thing now is missing food, which I do, but I'm not hungry. I just miss it. And getting in all the protein. It is hard to get in so much your stomach is so small. I aim for 100g a day and I am getting closer to that goal. I usually get around 80 but last night I hit 97.5!! lol....feel free to keep asking me questions. I know all the information you can get is helpful. Hope you have a good weekend!

Hi!You're number one and I'm number two!!
I'm scheduled for Wednesday this coming week. I'm very excited and yes I love Dr Noria too.
I am so happy I switched from Bellows. Well, considering I had never met the guy.. I'd guess you'd say I switched from Vanessa Landry. I have to say the process of all the testing and months of waiting will be worth it ...BUT, the way the office was handled was a complete nightmare. The last straw was when I waited four weeks for my appointment to arrive and was supposed to get a surgery date that day. Vanessa literally asked, "why are you here today?" I asked her if she was serious and knew at that point it was time to find a new Dr. I can tell you that there will be a change and I can see it's a positive one so far. Dr. Noria has been awesome. She is obviously concerned and takes her time with me each time we visit. If you have a chance to change Dr's, do so. It was important to me to actually see and talk with the Dr. that will do my surgery.
Number one, please email me at [email protected]. I would love to talk to you about the surgery. Lets try to get a group of patients together. Maybe we can find "number 3, 4, 5, 6, 7" and so on... I told Dr. Noria to offer my email address to other patients who may want to form a group of some sort.
I would like to be able to give my "old sizes" to a patient who can use them in the weight loss process. Also, maybe we can meet at the park once a month or so to just talk about our process. Anyone reading this who is up for forming a group, email me!
