SUBMITTED TO MEDICAID FROM DR BELLOWS NOW WAITING APPROVAL
I HAVE BEEN READING SEVERAL DIFFERENT POST HERE AND NOW I AM NERVOUS ABOUT MY PAPERWORK JUST SITTING WITH SHELIA. I WENT TO TULANE LAKESIDE ON FEBRUARY 8 AND EVERYTHING IS NOW SUPPOSED TO BE TURNED INTO MEDICAID. THANKFUL TO A FRIEND ON HERE THAT GAVE ME THE MEDICAID APPROVAL NUMBER THAT I WILL CONSTANTYL CALL. WOULD IT BE WRONG OF ME TO CALL MEDICAID AND SHELIA EVERY WEEK OR TWO UNTIL I CAN BE ASSURED THAT MY PAPERWORK IS ON ITS CORRECT COURSE FOR APPROVAL??? ALSO ONCE YOU GET APPROVAL AND MAKE YOUR SURGERY DATE, HOW FAR AWAY IS THE DATE FROM THE CALL, MONTH OR TWO??? I AM JUST SUPER ANXIOUS I GUESS. I HAVE BEEN DOING EVERYTHING SINCE MAY OF 2011 AND I AM SO READY FOR THIS SURGERY. THANKS FOR THE HELP
I was approved in August for the surgery through medicaid.I did call medicaid about twice a week to check on my authorization. I didn't think Sheila or Vanessa would have been to pleased if I were to call and bother them that often. My surgery date is March 21st., If I dont get pushed back.
Lots of Bellow's patients get pushed back, but they do eventually get the surgery.
Just make sure to do as your told. Use any time between now and your surgery date to experiment with different protein shake flavors and extracts and find the correct vitamins you need. Make sure you have everything you will need for the 3 week pre-op and post-op diet.
Do try to drop some weight and shrink your liver by low carb eating and exercising alot.
Also try getting used to eating a few small meals a day instead a 2 or 3 large ones and do replace some with protein shakes.Do drink alot of water.
Viacost.com has some pretty decent vitamins at very reasonable prices. Also walmarts body fortress whey powder has very high protein content and doesnt cost and arm and a leg.
I find I can mix the vanilla with different extracts and come up with some pretty good tasting shakes. I do use splenda to curb my sweet tooth.
