DR. Bellows Patients PLEASE RESPOND

Ok here I am in the final stage of he game Vanessa said to me that she is getting my letter together to submit to medicaid for approval.That was weeks ago and still it hasn't been done. From what I see from others on this site I shouldn't hold my breath in waiting. This was after a long battle of cat and mouse games such as: I dont have your refferal letter, inwhich i gave them 3 times, I dont have your weight records which i personally handed them twice.I dont know what surgery you want even after i wrote it down in my chart for them 2 times and it's the only surgery they are doing at present. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to submit it? Also, I have read and heard some scary stories about Tulane hospital and it's third world appeal. please all who have been through this respond so I can get a clearer picture of what dilemma will hit me in the face next.I have completed all the required test whats next?

Hey sorry to hear that you are going thru this like some of us have. It took her a month to send mine. Some have even stopped waiting and then was surprised to get her approval. Its a hassel but now all you can do is wait. Call medicaid and see if they have recieved it. I called at least twice a week and aggrivated Sheila until it was sent lol. I have no qualms about pestering someone to get something done. As for how the hospital was I have nothing negative to say about my stay. I was treated so good and everyone was so nice. But other have told me that theirs was not near as good. So I guess it depends on whats going on when you are there. I am just very glad to be on this side of the surgery and absolutely have no regrets except i wish he would have went a little smaller but I am happy. Good luck girl and all I can say is LOTS AND LOTS of patience.....Sherri

they are VERY unorganized group!!!!! CALL, CALL...............bug the crap out of them!!!!! It is worth the wait....................but there office, you speak to one person, and another.......... and nobody will remember you calling when you call back, it is very aggravating, but surgery for me was a life saver.

I missed your call tonight, sorry I have family in. But do bring someone (female) with you. Wear socks all the time. They never came in and cleaned my room for the 3 days I was there. I also had all my incisions open, only to get a staph infection! Im glad im on the other side, just stay as sterile as u can. I would even bring some Clorox wipes and wipe everything down.You will do fine, the Dr is good and my surgery was successful. Call me back tomorrow. Leigh

Well it did take a long time,I started all this in november,everything was turned in to them by dec 18th and I just had my surgury wensday the 17th.I was in the hosital in icu  from wensday till friday afternoon.They never got me u to walk at all,ket the cath in me till friday morning ,never  bathed me,never changed my bedding and have an issue with exposing you to see your inscisions,the first time i mett dr bellows wwas right before surgury.I then had to listen to him downgrade another dr on his team and  discusse how he was fired from another hospital,thig is this  dr was nice  to me,,never got his name though,surgury went well ,but went to icu,my bp and bs was high,they did not take me to do swallow test till thursday after noon and  it turned out fine ,well vanessa had already came in and said to me what  Id be getting to "eat" and it would be water ,jello,popsicles,broth,and that I was to start on  2 once at a time protien shakes 3 times a day and to be u walking.Well that was disregarded I was not gotten u until friday afternoon when I was like look I wana go home.I was given only water and room temp water at that.I was discharged and left  hospital and stayed nite at hotel,my hubby and my dad took care of me,I got more rest there believe me.
