Hi I'm about to start my weight loss surgery journey and I've chosen to go with Dr Chung, and I was just curious if anyone here had surgery with him and what their experiences were?

What should I expect?  Thanks so much.

I had Dr. Chung,

Dr. Chung and his staff are very good. I was very well informed on the sleeve way before i
actually went into Dr. Chungs Office. So my experince will differ from most. I went in and did my intial consultation, one of the nurses will sit down and talk with you and go over everything at first and get you to watch a video of the surgery. Dr Chung will come in and then talk with you about everything and answer any questions you have.

I was put on a diet for 30days to try to lose about 30lbs i got down 19lbs on a modified diet of 800cals aday. They prefer you on the atkins diet tho. I was self pay so my surgery was actually 28 days out from my first talk with Dr. Chung.

as far as bed side at the hospital Dr. Chung is the best doctor i've had. The hospital staff was great also, I had to stay 2 nights because of nausea.

Total Out of pocket was $14,000
there is cheaper places in houston an in Louisiana, but after talking to afew people
and not wanting to travel and all that stuff, saving $2,000 - $3,000 wasn't that important to me.
I called around 10 places in Houston an another 5 or so in Louisiana, all of the prices was between $11,000 - $14,000 the cheaper ones didn't include the blood work, chest xrays, EKG's and all that stuff. I am very glad i went with Dr. Chung tho.

Ok thanks so much!!!  I had swung by his office this morning and got a sheet of all of his prices....Right now I am trying to find a company that will finance 10,000 for me and not have my notes so high.....so once I find a finance company I am on my way!!!  Thanks so much for your help and if you know any finance companies that has low interest let me know too....

I'm not sure about finance companies, you could try a personal loan through your bank if you have one or try a few smaller banks they seem to be more willing to do a low loan like that.

I just got lucky and got a big bonus which funded my surgery or i would still be waiting to have mine done.

Hey,
I have some questions about the preop and post op diet. Vanessa sent me to a nutritionalist that said liquids only 3 weeks prior and after surgery is that correct?
