Hi Everyone,

I am having my surgery on Monday.  I'm so excited and also nervous. Does anyone have any great tips for me that you wished you would have known?

Thanks!

Hellow, my name is Dezzy. Do you know a doctor other than dr. Bellows that except medicaid?

Not that I know of. You can call the Medicaid office and see if they have any other names.

Congrats on being sleeved Monday. I know you cannot wait. Gas-x strips were a God Send. Ask for mouth swabs from your nurse in recovery to wipe your mouth out. It will be extremely dry right after surgery. dont be afraid to ask for pain meds right off the bat. i let my pain get out of control and it was not nice. Prepair at home before you go. You will not be able to do anything when you get home. Make sure you have broth and jellos for when you get home and bottled water. A pillow for the ride home and I brought a blanket to snooze on the long ride home. I live 4 hours from hospital. Just be prepaired to be realy sore in the tummy area. The liquid pain med and nausea med taste like Ass!!! lol i wish you the greatest luck and a very speedy recovery. I have no regrets and only wish that I could have done it sooner.

some mouthwash to hospital to wash my mouth out, breath smelled like i had eaten a dead dog. I got a baby sippy cup for when i got home and baby spoons................baby spoon is perfect size bite, and you can only take tiny sips of fluids......... i made mistake of taking a normal size drink, the pain almost brought me to my knees. My taste changed after surgery, so dont buy a lot of protein powder before surgery. Stock up on broth, s/f popsicles, sf jello and pudding, decaf coffee, all i could handle was hot tea, lots of people become lactose intolerant after surgery, I still have to use almond milk. Also after surgery things were WAY too sweet!!!!!!!!!! so i would use a half of the crystal lite packets, and water down fruit juices. I wish u great success with ur sleeve. Bring loose clothing to ride home in, after surgery u feel like you are blown up like a balloon. I also got s/f peppermints, when u r loosing weight ur breath smells like death.

Congrats on your up coming surgery! I needed chap stick in the hospital slippers, and a robe.. At home I had a difficult time laying down so extra pillows or a comfy chair helps. In fact I'm sleeping in my easy chair at night (just feels weird to lay). I also got a toddler fork spoon set and a mini blender for the puree stage. Good Blessings!!
