Hey OH

Hey guys. Recovering well. I am down 44 pounds total. I feel good. Aunt Flo has visited so I am a bit tired now but cant seem to stop and rest. If I try and take a nap all I do is lay there. My body wants to move. I eat pretty much what I want just in really small amounts. I still have a hard time getting in my liquids. I am only averaging 23-33oz a day. I feel like I am drinking all the time. Purple onions do not like me. lol. I had trouble in the beginning with stomach spasms that felt like contractions but those are gone now thank goodness. They were painful. I did develop an infection under one of my incision that had to be opened back up drained and I had to pack it for a while now it is almost closed up. other than that I am good and well on my way to healthy. I am sooooo glad to be on this side of the surgery. Now it is all up to me to lose the weight. Anyone thinking of having the surgery please don't wait. It is the best thing you can do for yourself and your loved ones. You are worth it to live a longer healthier life.  It feels good to have the restriction to keep me from over eating. I have no regrets.

im soooo happy for you!.. im glad to hear you are doing better and 44 POUNDS GONE FOREVER woo hoo.. i went for my visit and she said she would be sending off that day or next... im praying that was true and they dont do me like they did you... and hopefully soon ill be joining you on that bench.. once again congrats on the loss

That is great, not the infection and pain part but the progress part. Keep it up, I can't wait.

Hi,
I just started my journey with Dr, Bellows. I did the
sleep study last night and have all my appts scheduled within the next 3 weeks. I am on a diet trying to drop the fat around my liver. My primary care doc gave me all his office notes on the diet exercise plan he had me on for the last 6 months so I can turn that in as soon as i go back to bellows.
I also found out I can use my own psychiatrist for the psch consult with is a great help because my appt is april 6 with him.
I noticed you listed the checklist for him on the web and wanted to let you know that the nutritionist is no longer at tulane, It is done at lakeside hospital the number there is 504-780-4397 sherice the consult is 2 hours long no classes afterwards.
Also with the sleep study they have trouble recieving faxes so an alternate number for them is 504-988-8688
My next appt is with physiotherapist on this Thursday. I will keep you posted. you have no idea how much your blogs have helped me out with all this thank you.

Hello Louisianawench. thanks for posting additional information. I wanted to post as much as I could because it took me forever to find information on Dr. Bellows and I feel that I am truly blessed to have had my surgery. i wish that everyone who needed bariactric surgery would have access to a surgeon. Unfortunately not everyone does.  I posted all that I could so that anyone who could benefit could. I am glad that it has helped you. Just don't get aggravated if you have to wait on them to get things sent and approved. It took mine and a few others longer than we had hoped but others went fast so I guess its a draw lol. Good luck on your journey and cant wait to see you on the losers bench....Sherri

Hey,glad you are doing good,I  went to dr bellows on the 9th and was told that surgurys are scedualed till 2nd week of may and depending on medicaid it might be june or july before mine is scedualed.I  hope they really sent the letter off,lol...that would suck if im waiting and medicaid dosnet even have it.Was told that  id have to see them 3 weeks before surg and go on the liquid diet at that time.Im so ready to have it over with.
