SO Much for talking to me FRIDay!

Love being told that someone will talk to me on a certain day but they dont accually do it.Wensday when I  got sheila on the phone at dr Bellows, she  not have time to look my info up but promised she would friday,well no such luck ,ive called today 4 times and left a message once,and now im told shes gone for the day ,well thats  just crap! So I now get to spend t he weekend  waiting to just  find out    if or when they will send  it to medicaid for approval,I have  busted my BUTT trying to ge t  everything required as fast as possible to get the ball rolling. I feel like I need to drive there and sit in the office untill they accually do something,Medicaid  does not always take very  long to read it and approve,sometimes just a week or so,sometimes a month...but this wont happen when they dont  write it up and send in..........................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like we are in the same boat. My Dr's office is dragging there ASS sorry but this is just how i feel. I know i am not the only patient i am sure there are alot more. When i am told something would be done like the additional information faxed to the insurance company on wednesday i exspected it to be done. However when i called to be sure it was done i was told Oh i will get to it tomorrow and get it faxed in .....So *****ally knows if it was faxed or not .......So i guess we are in the same BOAT!!!

Hey Ella I am sorry you are getting treated so unfair. They did the same to me. I wish that I would have went there instead of dealing with calling her for over a month and a half trying to get them to fax my stuff. It really is ridiculous how they make us wait for them after we have busted our behinds to get everything done in a timely manner. Just thin k I started all of my stuff with my first call to Dr. Bellows in May. I will not have surgery until Feb. 16Th. I was told at my first appointment that it would only take three months MAX to get everything done and have surgery. Phff. That's way past. It is really infuriating especially when you cant get someone to answer the phone and tell you where something is. I don't know if it will hel*****t to go in and see Vanessa. But it sure cant hurt instead of waiting on Sheila to call you or answer the phone. Its a shame we cant threaten to go to another Dr. because of poor treatment since he is the only one that takes our insurance.  Just don't give up.  If I had lived alot closer I would have been in the office raising all kinds of Hell asking why my stuff was being sat on. But unfortunately I am like you and live 4 hours away.

this is kinda making me sad... i go for first appt with bellows office feb 2nd... i have pcp stuff, sleep study, and a phych eval (that im not sure they will except cuz they didnt answer when i called to see if they excpeted it eventhough medicaid themselves gave me the number to pysch)... the cardio is right around the corner and was told i can get an appt in a bout a week so im calling monday to set that up for before i go on feb 2nd... so all ill have is NUT and PT so i thought i was ahead of things but knowing that this might happen to me i guess i should kiss my hopes of having the surgery before summer good bye huh

I too am waiting for Ms. Vanessa to write the letter to medicaide. But my only advice is too go sit in her office to get things going, and let's not forget, all good things happen in due time. Be positive and just know, we will all be on the losers bench in no time! Good luck!

I live 4 hours away and I was told she is only there wensdays, dont know how true that is.Thinking I might have to go,just would need to know when she is there!

Dr. Shimer in lake charles has the absolute best office staff. The insurance person ALWAYS calls back on the same day when you leave a message. She pushes the paperwork and works on getting your approval. She made me feel like I was their only patient. I would very highly recommend him. His nurse also calls back on the same day you call. I have never had a dr where the office staff was so caring and proffesional. They pushed the insurance very hard for me. Brenda is the receptionist/insurance person.
I went to other surgeons and dr. shimer was the one I felt the most comfortable with.

Hey Ella. I know that Vanessa is there on Tuesdays also. That is when Dr. Beloows is in the office too. I hope that it comes soon for you. Once they do Medicaid was very quick to approve mine. Good luck. Call her everyday if you must. Pester the crap out of them.

There seems to be a lot of Medicaid recipidents who hare having WLS. Even Medicare covers WLS. It really grips me that some insurances will not cover this procedure when State assistance programs do.

Why are there so  many people on Medicaid?
