Found a way to mix protein shakes and it taste really good
I was reading the book "Before and After" by Susan Maria Leach. She is 9 years post op and has really good tips. She also is the Bariatric advantage owner at website bariatriceating.com.
She said the best way to mix your protein shake is to not add all ingredients in blender and blend on high. That will make the shake very thick with alot of air in it, if you pulse the blender until just mixed the shakes will come out more like a milkshake consistency.
This is what I did, I put my frozen fruit, nutrasweet, vanilla flavor and enough water to blend. I blend the fruit mixture until it is as smooth as I like it (I like to have some small pieces of fruit to be left). Then I mixed my protein powder and water in a shaker until mixed well. I added the protein to the fruit mixture a little at a time and barely pulse blended. It does not have that bad protein taste and is so much better. I am actually enjoying it!!!
I was to the point of not being able to drink the protein shakes anymore because I just could not take the thickness and flavor. I had 2 shakes yesterday and am enjoying one this morning.
I have 3 brands that I bought because I was trying to find one I could stand, this way I think I will be able to use all of the containers of protein that I have here and not gag with every swallow.
Sorry this post is so long, but I just had to share my find.
