The Waiting Game

Everything has been completed. After calling New Orleans everyday for Three and half weeks they have finaly faxed my stuff to medicaid for approval. So now I sit and enjoy my protein shakes and wait for my approval. Its funny, I feel so relaxed now.  I know its aggrivating to them for me to be a pest but if I had not then my stuff would not have been faxed until some time in December.  She told me that they have 22 patients in clinic and that they are busy. Well you know I was one of those 22 people at one time and I am no less important now because I finished all of my stuff.  If she would have been wise she would have had it faxed four weeks ago and then she would have avoided hearing my voice three times a day for a month. I could have been mean and had my cousin call all those times. She has one of those Fran the Nanny voices. HEHE. Anyways I am so ready to have that letter and get my date. I cant wait to join the losers bench with the rest of you guys.

 I just had to keep going back for appts and they finally flipping faxed mine and it seemed as it took forever! 

Yea, progress!! I am happy for you. I talked to my bariatric coordinater and she said that our support groups are for anyone, even if you had surgery somewhere else. SO, you need to come with me to the meetings. The 3rd tues of every month at women & children's in Lake Charles 6 PM. They are a very good source of info. The next one is on Dec 21.

oh, i am so jealous..would love to be able to go to a support group...none around here that i have been able to find; after surgery and i have settled in and losing, i plan to start one...

Hey Gwen its Sheila Keel i think we have talked before. I am staying here in Westlake with my fiance. My insurance is out of texas so i have desided to go with Dr Felix Spegiel out of Houston Tx. I have done my consult and i have scheduled my endoscopy for the week of the 20th. I am waiting for insurance to approve my psych meeting. I a having a revision surgery done ffrom the (VGB) to the RYN. I was just wondering how u are doin as for as getting all ur vitamins and protien in. I am really worried about all that. I am thinking of attending the support group at the woman and childrens hospital on the 21st. Any help u can give will be gratly appreciated.......God Bless  Sheila Keel

It's hard, I know. I waited more than a year for my date because my doctor's office lost my insurance card. Then I had to go through my bloodwork and internist appointment and my psych eval all over again. In the end, the waiting was all worth it. I am so happy with my gastric bypass.

You will get there, never fear. Patience is difficult. Hey Sherri - I am so happy that they finally sent it for you - you should hear something this week!! The number you need to call is 800-488-6334. Have your medical card sitting there so you can punch in the number on it and you will be directed to your worker. Do not get discouraged if you get a "no" the first time - I think that is their policy - mail the the thing back fighting it!!
