so frustraited

I talked to Sheila Monday and she said that Vanessa is on Vacation and that  She may or may not get my stuff sent off to medicaid next week before Thanksgiving. If not she will not send it until the following week. All she is waiting on is for Vanessa to write the necessity letter to go with my stuff.  I just get so aggravated because they have had all of my stuff for two weeks now. Yet nothing has been done to get it sent off. I jumped through all of these hoops to get my stuff done but yet they are overwhelmed with appointments so I have to wait until they get ready to finish my stuff before I can get submitted. Then I have to wait up to 30 days for an acceptance letter then I get to schedule surgery.   I started all this in May and now seems like I will have to wait until the new year to get my surgery. Just very frustrated.  We just might have surgery around the same time. I am so ready for all of this to be over and have my surgery.

Did u go to ur follow up appt. once u turned in all ur paperwork?

Yes I had my last appointment on October 13th. they needed a report from my cardiologist  saying that I was good for surgery. I had already had the stress test and the reports but they needed a letter from the cardiologist. Sent that OVER two weeks ago. Talked to Sheila last week on Monday. She was suppose to give it to Vanessa but apparently not.  I called her this Monday and Vanessa is out until this Friday or next monday.

Sherri, you have to stay on top of them.................... they done my the same way that they are doing you!!!! I had to make a appt and go up there and that is when Vanessa wrote my report in front of me, and they faxed it all while I was there! Just keep bugging the **** out of them!!!!

Thanks Paula. I think I will try and get an appointment for next wednesday if they let me. That way it is done.


I called and got an appointment for next Wednesday but the lady said they may call and cancel because of it being day before Thanksgiving. I told it was fine to go ahead and schedule it and if they canceled then I would just deal with it.  I am going to do what you said Paula and try to get it sent right then. Wish me luck.

oh girl, i am so sorry you r going thru this..i perfectly understand how frustrated that u r and wanting so much to have your surgery and get on with life...i'll be praying u will get in on wednesday and get that letter done...

Im sorry you are going thru all of this. Hopefully you will be having surgery soon.
I live about 30 min from you. What hospital are you having your surgery at? We should get together. There is a support group meeting at Women and Children's hospital in Lake Charles every 3rd tuesday of the month at 6PM. I know someone that drives all the way from Jennings to attend.
If there are no meetings in Vinton, you should come to the meetings. They have very useful info and also it is good to talk to others that are going thru the same thing. The last meeting was this past Tues. and I remembered at 9PM. I was so very angry at myself for missing it.

Hello Gwen, I joined the OH website almost  2 yrs ago when i was considering have the BAND revision surgery done. I have since then deisided on having the ByPASS surgery. I go to meet with my Dr. in Houston on monday. I now live in Westlake i seen where they offer support groups at Woman and Childrens Hospital. Can anybody attend? I will not be able to afford to drive to Houston for the support groups once i have my surgery. So hoping i get approved soon.  Well looking forward to hearing from u ......sheila

Hey Gwen. No there are not support groups in Vinton. OH has been my group for a long time. Thanks for telling me about the one at Women's and Childrens. How do I find out more about the meetings. Like where at in the hospital and and do I need to reserve a seat.  Congrats on your recent surgery. I have to go all the way to New Orleans for my surgery.  At Tulane. I hope that it happens soon. I will definitely try to go to the next meeting. Maybe we can meet up there and chat. Thanks for responding to my post. I just had to vent. I am so ready for my surgery to be here.  It will happen when its meant to be.  I guess I just need to be a pest to the Dr office and try to have more patience at the same time. HAHA easier said than done.Its nice to meet you and I hope that we can chat more....Sherri

Sherri, the support meetings are very easy to find when you enter the hospital. They are in a conference room that is the 1st door on the right after walking in thru main entrance. Let me know if you plan on going to the meeting in Dec. and I could wait for you in the parking lot to go in together. You also do not have to reserve a seat.
They usually have refreshments, iced tea and crystal light and usually veggie soup. They also sometimes bring sample packets of protein mixes.
