Cold feet!
I just had my last appointment with the dietician at Dr. Bellows clinic, and im not sure about all this. I mean no more good food again! And u have to eat at the exact times and get down the liquids and vitamins. Hows a working girl suppose to do all this? Whoever has had this sleeve done, please give me some insight. It's all in the Angels hands now, i've done all I can for now.
Have they sent your stuff for approval yet? I have finished all of my stuff now I am waiting for Sheila to send my stuff to medicaid for approval. I am calling Monday to see if she has it all ready or not. She had my stuff week and half ago. Dont be too nervous. Try to focus on what good things are going to happen after after your surgery. Think of how good you will feel. How much a better life you will have. NMy nerves seem to subside when I think of the good things. Let us know how things are going....Sherri
Thanks ladies! I really just had a depressing moment when I found out what I have to eat, how much, and all the time frames. Whew! I will be calling Shelia monday to make sure she has everything in her hot little hands, but as for me, I have done all I can do for now. This truly is a whole new life to me, cuz some stuff I can't do, and I want to. Like alcohol, I love my daquries. Casey said I can never drink alcohol again! Wow AA is involved in this too? BIG CHANGES! Im comming around, and thanks so much for ur advice. Hey Sexygreeneyes, Do u think he was a good surgeon? Can u share some stuff u have gone thru so far? Im so happy to have u guys! Love Leigh
Don't think of it as you can NEVER have good food again. You will have to give some stuff up for awhile. I don't know what the VSG requires, or what your surgeon requires. I know that with my surgeon and RNY, I was allowed, after a certain amount of time, to have a small amount of alcohol (and I do mean small ... like one drink) again. Because that one drink is going to hit you harder than it used to (not sure about VSG ...just know about RNY).
I gave up caffeine for a good two years ... and I love my coffee, and my beer and my pop. But hey, I wanted to be healthy ... I wanted that weight off my knees and back. So I did what I was told.
Six and a half years later, I have the occasional drink .. a glass of wine or a beer, like once or twice a week ... I have my coffee again. I have an occasional pop, but don't really miss that all that much. You will be surprised what you won't miss. There are SF dacquiri mixes, BTW. So when you want the taste (without the alcohol) you can try that ... and maybe later ... much later, of course, like a year or two out ... you can add a little bit of alcohol back in.
Good luck to you.
