Century Link (Tel) or Embarq employees-is WLS covered?

Is there anyone that works for Century Tel or Embarq (have merged) that know if WLS is covered ? 

My company will be merging soon w/them..

(headquarters is in Monroe...hoping some employees may be on the the LA board)

Yes it is covered however you must have a BMI of 35-40 with other problems, weight loss plans, etc....or if BMI is over 40 nothing is required....best insurance in the world....altho I do not qualify for the surgery under insurance I will be gettin the Sleeve......they do cover the Sleeve, Lapband, or Gastric Bypass....Good Luck :)

It is covered.  My husband works for CenturyLink (we have insurance through them) and they covered mine.  I had to have a BMI of 40 or more and have a 5 year weight history (just my dr records from anywhere).  I was approved in less than a week.  They were really easy to deal with.  BTW, it's United Healthcare insurance.  Good Luck!!

Thanks for the information...that is great news for me....i already had a bypass..just was hoping they covered in case there are complications etc....i have been wondering what their benefit plan looked like.
